Are you frustrated at not being able to lose your tummy fat? Although it make seem to make sense to perform exercises that directly target the abdominal region, however, exercises such as ab crunches are some of the least effective ways to flatten tummy. Doing hundreds of crunches daily will help you develop your abdominal and oblique muscles; however, it will do little for your overall fat loss - after all, you cannot see your ab muscles unless you've flattened your tummy and reduced your body fat to a low enough percentage.

2. Going on and off diets is a sure fire way to fail at losing body fat. Going on and off diets is one of the major reason for yo-yo weight loss and weight gain. Every time you go off a diet back to your old habits, you invariably gain back the weight you lost, and sometimes, a little extra. For a diet to be successful, it cannot be too restrictive so that you will not have a difficult time staying on the diet.

3. Skipping meals and making up for the skipped meals with oversized portion meals is another way to sabotage your weight loss. 7. Cook your meals. Instead of buying pre-cooked and pre-packaged meals, cook your own foods. The next time you go shopping, buy the vegetables and lean meats to prepare your own meals. it'll cost less, and you'll naturally be eating healthier.

8. You cannot spot reduce. Many falsely believe that you can somehow specifically target the tummy fat and somehow burn it off. Time, energy, and money are wasted on gadgets that claim to help you get rid of tummy fat, but none of these so called miracle gadgets will help you reduce tummy fat.

When it comes to losing body fat and reducing tummy fat, you need patience, and lots of it. You have to be patient, and you need to stay motivated or you will likely fail. Weight loss is not a quick process. After all, it didn't take you just days to put on the extra weight, and it's going to take more than a few days to lose the extra weight. Be consistent with your weight loss efforts and you will be rewarded.
